11. Truelove vs The Clash-Rock the Casbah 2011

Bringing the funk to 2011.Truelove have captured the funk of the Clash’s classic “Rock the Casbah. Four to the floor beat with a catchy glitch vocals make this a crowd favourite on the Ibiza dance floor. Rock the Casbah  in Ibiza will become the ‘’norm”.

10. Spiller- Pigeonmans Revenge

Spiller is back!! We all remember the track that catapulted him to stardom namely “Groovejet”. Spiller returns with vengeance, by unleashing his latest single Pigeonmans Revenge” Disco funk is the name of the game here! I cant help but picture a bunch of pigeons dressed in tight white pants loosing it to this disco sound!!

09. Ray Foxx-The Trumpeter

Arguably the biggest track of Ibiza in 2011.We can’t get enough of that trumpet sound. Ray Foxx packs a serious punch with his debut single. The Blood of Funk must run through his veins, a full pack of elite remixes on its way including Style of Eye and Chocolate Puma will sure to send it to higher heights (If that’s possible!)

08.Richard Dinsdale, Sam Obernik,Hook n Sling-Edge of the earth

Richard Dinsdale follow up to “DJ you got the love” is another smash. Joining up with Sam Obernik and Electro House kings Hook n Sling, conjure a massive progressive house sound with “End of the Earth”. Strong vocals push this into the edge of dance floor mayhem!

07.Lady Gaga-Judas (Thomas Gold Remix)

Not a big fan of the original from Gaga, but as usual from electronic producers turn the original on its head and make it very pleasing!! Thomas Gold is the remix machine at the current moment. This delivers on every  

chord and beat. Huge piano synths and builds make Lady Gaga go gaga over this remix!!

06. Kaskade-Don’t stop kissing (Kaskade mash up)

One of my favourite producers this year! Another Bomb Monday mash up track from the man himself. Taking a previous hit of his “ Don’t Stop Dancing”  and mashing it up all the right ways our ear drums desire.

  

05. Example-Stay awake (Moam Remix)

 Man of the moment with “Change the way you kiss me”, which earned him platinum status in the UK, returns with his latest single on his forth coming album, “Stay awake”. With massive remix production from Moam currently being supported by Tiesto on his club life tours! Progressive sound on a whole new level,

04.Roul & Doors- Assiduity

Currently my favourite new breakthrough producers of 2011. Dutch Duo Roul and Doors have created a unique sound, giving the dirty dutch sound a run for its money. Defected cant get enough of them and rightly so. Featured on their latest ep with “Trinidad”, “Assiduity” is the hands in the air track we all love in Ibiza.

03.Avicii-Levels

The Swedes have a new superstar Dj, and its not any house mafia we know of. Avicii has grown in popularity and production skill in leaps and bounds. With hit after hit, “Levels” has indeed reached a whole new level of progressive house  sound. Ladies and gentleman the bar on progressive house has been raised, thanks to Avicii.

02. Arno Cost- Lise

My word ,my word ,my word. This  has to be the biggest build in dance music this year. When “Lise” drops it feels like the death star has shot its planetary cannon on a helpless planet!! With big support from Michael Woods, Arno Cost is set to own 2011!!

01. Michael Woods-Bullet

My favourite producer/dj of 2011. Michael Woods has grown immensely in the last 6 months. With current UK platinum hit with Example of “Change the way you kiss me”. His latest single “Bullet” should be renamed to “Bomb”. Seeing this being dropped at Space Ibiza by Mr. Woods himself was very special!!! 2012 will be owned by Michael, guaranteed!!

12. Style of Eye- Sexx

 

Back from an extended stay on the white isle, Ibiza. This year is regarded by most to be the best season yet on the beloved island. We start off the count down with one of my favourite producers Style of Eye. There latest single “Sexx” currently featured on Defected Ibiza,is a raw thumping and humping dirty grinding house track with a vocal scat sure to get a crowd into a frenzy!!! Watch this one climb the charts!!! Sexx is where its at, hot and sweaty!!

 

 

 

11.Jason Chance-Head Shake

Jason Chance back on the chart with this funky as hell house groover!! “Head shake” is just that!! Your body and ass will shake just as much when this drops on the floor, another Defected bomb hits the charts. Jason lays over his old school house organ with great futuristic bass lines and beats. A sure winner for any floor  that’s lacking movement!!

10.Kings of Tomorrow-Take me back (Virus J Remix)

 Sandy Rivera aka Kings of Tomorrow fame is all to familiar with success of his previous char topper “Finally”. His latest track Take me back is sure to follow the same path. Virus J raises the bar on the remix with a piano riff to die for. “Take me back to where my heart used to live” for most of us it is Ibiza.

09.Stefano Noferini-Its for You

Blissful strings accompany this arrangement from rising Italian producer Stefano Noferini. “Its for you” is a summer vibe track that belongs on a beach in Ibiza beach near you. Uplifting sounds are guaranteed from Stefano, he has Ibiza in his sights for sure!

08.Copyright ft Shovel- Kama Yeah

It was a great pleasure to meet this man in person. Shovel is such a friendly guy, funny as well. Another Defected monster track, Copyright know all to well how to get the crowd jumping with their latest single “Kama Yeah”. Cheeky synths  are in right now , and Ibiza loves it. Saturday Nights are never the same on the white isle, thanks to Copyright-we all dance to one house!!!!

07.NO ID,Tommy Trash & Sebastien Teller-Nothing left to loose

Geez like!! What a star studded producer list on this track!! No ID, Tommy Trash and Sebastien Teller all skilled producers in their own right have outshone many in Ibiza this year with “ Nothing left to loose” A progressive house monster to say the least!! Make sure you have no drinks in your hand for this one, once it drops people jump and so does your drink!!

06.Ctrl Alt Funk-Fraction

A personal favourite of mine. One of my latest productions “Fraction” features on my debut Album “Nu Funktion”. It’s a Progressive House Sizzler, with big synths and drops. It received warm responses across the white isle. If you love putting your hands in the air, this track will help you get there!!!

05. Martin Solveig-Hello (Michael Woods)

My latest favourite Progressive House producer at the moment is Michael Woods. He has taken a commercial track from Martin Solveig ‘Hello” and chopped, diced, sliced and cooked up a bomb of a Remix!! Huge riffs cover this number, its sure to set Ibiza ablaze all over again!

04.Swedish House Mafia-Save the world

If there is anyone right now that owns Monday nights in Ibiza its definitely the Swedish House Mafia with their Masquerade themed evenings. A sure floor filler is their latest single “Save the world” which features a heart warming music video. The Swedes have mafia control over the Island and what better  bosses to be in charge, hear hear!!

03.Deadmau5-Raise your weapon (Madeon Remix)

When Uber star producer Deadmau5 writes on his Soundcloud wall of how talented young Madeon is (17 yrs old) with his remix of “Raise your weapon” we all stand up and listen. His remix of ”Raise your weapon” is a disco/electro fused mixture of Daft Punk and Wolfgang Gartner. A electronic musical Beethoven of our time some have stated. Madeon has arrived, only big things can ensue!!!

02.Calvin Harris-Bounce

When you first hear Calvin Harris new single “Bounce” you can swear you’ve stepped into a world of Mario brothers, with iconic Nintendo game sounds. It he suddenly explodes into a huge synth line with the sultry vocals of Kelis pushing it higher!! A Uk chart topper, this is definitely one of the biggest tracks in Ibiza at the moment.

 01.Example-Change the way you kiss me

Its my pleasure to award the No.1 track of Ibiza right now to Example with “Change the way you kiss me” If you haven’t heard this, you’ve been living under a rock at the bottom of the sea. I was lucky enough to see Example perform this live in Space! I’ve never seen a crowd jump like that before, pure energy. Its got bomb alert all over it on the twitter feeds!!! Congratulations are in order for Michael Woods (producer) and Example for reaching Gold in the UK with this track!! Deservedly so!!!!!

10. Late night Alumni-Empty Streets (Glitterati Remix)

Looking back 6 years ago we knew that when Kaskade teamed up with Becky Williams a club classic was on the cards. Fast forward today the Hed Kandi honchos  have released a fabulous remix bringing back old house organs with a fresh lease of life in this saturated electro sound market. Featured exclusively  on World Series Miami cd. Late  Night Alumni is sure to be top of club charts with this in Summer.

9.Felix Leiter-Sky high

 Jumping out of a plane 10 000 feet with your ipod plugged in. One of the few tracks that  your emotions can compare to is “Sky High” Another top release from the Hed Kandi label. Felix Leiter latest track has eyes set on Ibiza. With its massive piano chords turning any main dancefloor into a sticky mess of bodies and “hands reaching high” for the euphoria that it brings!

8.Allister Albrecht ft. BDBB-Love is the Icon

 You partying it up in 1989, a time machine lies in front of you, a house producer  by the name of Alistar Albrecht  invites on a Journey through time. You arrive in 2011,you cautiously  step out onto the dance floor, and experience his latest club land offering “Love is the Icon” featuring the deep voice of BDBB. Damn this Old School Rave Synth is hot as Dubai’s summer streets. You find yourself uncontrollably jacking your body up and down to this infectious rhythm! Ibiza look out Alistair is here!

7.PleasureKraft-Carny

  What a cracker of a track. Every time I hear it, I feel like I’m a kid again running around in a carnival/circus amusement park. Riding every single coaster I can get on, with the Dj belting this is in the back round. It’s a sure fire way of turning everyone in the club into a bopping kid again craving for cotton candy and lollipops! 

6.The Shapeshifters ft.Shermanology-Waiting for you

 Another anthem from the duo that is The Shapeshifters. They definitely have the winning formulae  written down somewhere in their studio! Shermanology on vocal duty and what a performance he gives, huge synths and breakdowns the order of the day here. Get ready for Ibiza 2011 Shapeshifters  are inbound.

5. Roul & Doors-Gita

  Not to0 much known about the Dutch duo known as Roul & Doors. They surely know how to make a statement being new kids on the floor and what a statement it is with “Gita”. It is a simple but infectious synth line that buries deep into your brain. It’s hard to get rid of, but do you really want to! Many great things will come our way courtesy of Roul & Doors. Keep your ears peeled, I’m backing this horse for sure!!

4.Roy Davis JR ft. J Noize & Kaye Fox-Enjoy the Ride (James  Talk and Ridney Remix)

 A huge favourite in the Defected offices. I can see why! With Roy Davis on the vocals and James Talk with Ridney on the Remix, this has Ibiza hit written, sewn, scorched, and emblazed all over it! I noticed cheeky use of a bassline which belongs on a House anthem called “Into” by Alan Braxe, nonetheless this is still a monster!! If you don’t hear it this summer, you must be living under a rock!

3. Alex Kenji,Starkillers ft. Nadia Ali-Pressure

 One of my favourite female singers on the electronic scene. Nadia Ali  has voice that can make an angel blush! She has matching looks too. My god she could give up her day job and start a modelling career. Her collaboration with Alex Kenji and Starkillers is definitely on point! “Pressure” is another smash hit heading Ibiza’s way and with Nadia close by, the wait can only be memorable!

2.Candi Staton-When you wake up tomorrow (Jay Santi Remix)

 A classic disco track by Candi Staton has been given a proper remix by Jay Santi. Another top release from Hed Kandi label. Ibiza Summer 2011 will be ruled by filtered disco house, and leading the pack will be Jay Santi’s  latest rendition of “ When you wake up tomorrow”

1. Bingo Players- Cry Just a little

 This reminds me of a girl who is caught between her love and her destiny, crying just a little makes it easier! Our tune of the month goes to Bingo Players. Sampled from a track by Brenda Russel “Piano in the dark” This track will remain  on repeat mode in most  music fan devices! With a feverish chorus and disco filtered bass line this was is set to Rule Ibiza this summer, Few tracks will come close but none will surpass.

Now and then a proper but proper House track comes along with no electro square synths in sight. Full house funk filled to the top on this stormer by Jason Chance and Michelle Weeks.This is what house music has been missing for a while, some divaness, some classic 4 to the floor grooves. Welcome back home, the tide is finally changing! We applaud Jason for reminding why we fell in love with house in the first place.

8.Bass Kleph-These mornings

 Picture yourself coming out of a night club at 7 in the morning with the biggest party smile on your face. They (Club owners) have kicked you out  letting you know the “night is over”. You head off straight to your girlfriends house and for the first time you meet her Italian parents. At the breakfast table they’re speaking Italian to each other and for some strange reason it sounds like music, similar to glitchy vocals found on Bass Kleph’s latest single ”These mornings”. Ironic though, you start bopping your head to there conversation and your girlfriend thinks youre off you’re nutter! Her parents laugh, all you can say is “aaaaaahhhhhh aaaaaahhhhhh  aaaaaahhhhhhh”!

7.Black Rose-Anthem

This track reminds me of being goofed, high on mountain vegetation listening to rastas  Mcing over an infectious house groove belonging to Black Rose. The debut single from Jesse Rose and Henrik Scharwz collaboration stands to be an anthem none the less. Pass the puff sir, er… I mean “selector” , pass the key to music freedom of the mind that is!

6.Diddy Dirty Money-Coming home(Dirty South Remix)

One of the biggest if not the best track to come out of Miami WMC 2011 this year has undoubtedly been Dirty South’s Remix of Diddy’s  single ‘Comin home”. I’m surprised this tune made it out of Miami WMC alive. The amount of Dj’s giving  this track a working is astonishing! Dirty has taken a great song and gone supernova on our milkyway galaxy!

You see your dream girl playing in the waves as you lie sunbathing on a white beach. You’re amazed by her beauty and contagious laughter. James Talk & Ridney new single “One for me” reverberates in your mind. This is the one!!. Technically not for sale on any store now, but a track of note none the less. Kaskade  has taken his own single "Stars align" and laid it over a single by Dimitri Veags and Like Mike called "Tomorrow" and did the unthinkable, he has made it better!!
